1. Where Did We Come From? Part 2
If you didn't read part 1 last week, you'd better go there first.
When I was a kid (around 12 years old) I was crazy about astronomy. I would write out, in long hand, passages from books about the stars and planets. Through this love I came to read dozens of books about the stars and was exposed to some amazing, mind-bending photographic images.
I think it had a lot to do with how I grew up, actually.
Even in those days (not so long ago!), we already had the giant telescopes of Mount Wilson (100-inch), just above Pasadena and the Mount Palomar 200-inch further south. These enormous instruments, which could gather the tiniest traces of light and create an image on a photographic plate, enabled us to peer deeper and further into the universe than ever before.
Some of the photos were awesome. I found myself drawn into them and that produced a strange spiritual transformation. Instead of looking AT the pictures, I seemed to go into them. I could feel myself literally among those stars. They were all around me, not just on a flat 2-dimensional image on a page in front of me.
One thing that impressed me was the sheer numbers of stars and nebulae. Take a look at this image of stars in the constellation of Ophiucus. It’s staggering, when you realize that each dot is a star, many of them far larger than our modest Sun. See if you too can be “in the picture” and go there.

It raises awesome questions, about the nature of the universe and what it means to be conscious in such an unimaginably vast playground.
To me, the only answer was that consciousness is the real “stuff” of the universe and matter is just an add-on. Scientists are stuck on explaining how something as insubstantial as consciousness could have sprung up in a physical, non-living universe. They can’t. I don’t believe they ever will, because I believe that model is wrong.
I believe consciousness was there first. Materiality came into being through consciousness and not the other way round. That’s not Creationism, by the way. I’m not sure what it’s called. Maybe creationism with a small –c?
Consciousness as the background of reality is common to many great religions and mystics. The Indian Vedas abound with references to the Brahman, or ground of raw consciousness, from which all springs, including us. To them it’s God. I’m OK with that.
But when you time line travel with people and get them to drift back, as I have got them to do many times, to memories of conception, you find something startling.
I ask the question “Where did you come from? How did you get here” and about 20% will answer “Kicked out of heaven”. These are not just Christian-oriented cases I should make clear. And not all people come up with that idea. But it’s strangely consistent, meaning people have not primed each other or even met each other, and yet come up with a remarkably similar phrase to describe their origins.
Another common reply is “Sent here” type answers. You can make of these words what you will. Remember, we are talking about people in a deep trance state. Maybe they were nuts. Or—maybe they were tuned into something the rest of us don’t reach at ordinary times.
More next week (unless there are any complaints). Meantime, finish with this beautiful image of the so-called “horsehead nebula”, in the constellation of Orion. It’s believed to be a birthplace of stars. You can practically see them coming alight in there, huh? (not really, it takes millions of years!) click the image and you will see a much larger one open up... If you get a tiny + sign, click again, it will enlarge even more...

2. Want To Know Another Weight Loss Secret?
I bet you do!
Stephen Cherniske, senior science officer for Univera products, and author of two key anti-aging books, has come up with an absolute winner. It was not planned as a weight loss product at all. That's just a side effect! No, really!
The product is called "Level G™" and it has impeccable science, with human trials. Stephen is bringing out a book on diabetes, one of the major curses of Western health. He decided to accompany it with a killer glucose control formula. Univera, a natural products company, are manufacturing and selling it.
It's called Level G™ because it levels blood glucose, get it? All those spikes of blood sugar when you eat sugary foods are accompanied by spikes in insulin and that's what is so dangerous; eventually, your body can no longer respond to the sugar control mechanisms. We call this "insulin resistance" and it leads inexorably to weight gain and diabetes.
Blood glucose spirals on upwards and it starts to produce severe tissue damage. Diabetes, I have often said is just a speeded up version of the aging process. You do NOT want to go that way.
So, take Level G™. It balances your blood glucose. One woman who had levels up to 500 mg/dL (very very dangerous levels) now has an even blood glucose of around 120 mg/dL, which is where it should be.
Well, the benefit of an even blood glucose is you don't feel hungry. Hunger is a response to low blood sugar. The body says "Hey, better eat" and if it goes really low, the body screams "Better eat RIGHT NOW!" which is why you find people tearing at the wrappers of a candy bar in panic, trying to stuff themselves with sugar before they pass out. I've heard people remark "I could kill for chocolate" and that's how desperate it gets. Your body will not allow a low blood sugar; that would destroy the brain as surely as no oxygen.
Bad way to live!
Anyway, you don't need me to tell you that if you don't feel hungry, you don't eat; if you don't eat, you lose weight! And that's exactly what's happening to people with this product. Weight loss is a pleasant bonus. People are losing 10, 20, 30 lbs easily, without feeling hungry.
Now I want you to take a deep breath and stay calm... Univera is a multi-level company! It's a good one actually. But YOU DO NOT HAVE TO JOIN THE MULTI-LEVEL COMPANY TO TRY LEVEL-G™. Viv and I have an account that allows you to just order as a customer.
Univera does a fabulous 90-day money back guarantee (only for those who choose the autoshipping option). It means this: if you got no benefits from the product after 90-days, just send back the packaging and any remaining contents. They'll refund you.
And they do. I've made sure of that.
Univera’s Level G™ complex features highly bioavailable chelates of chromium and vanadium, essential trace minerals shown to promote healthy glucose metabolism. Level G also contains extracts from the banaba plant, known to support healthy blood sugar metabolism as well as antioxidant protection.
Unique to Level G™ is the addition of a proprietary Aloe vera complex, shown in recent studies to provide significant support for maintaining healthy blood sugar levels.
A month's supply of Level G™ costs only $49.95. Yes, I am taking it myself.
Order Level G™ to try by calling my wife Vivien on 775 657 8598 or 760 285 6638 (US only)

3. A Letter To You All From My Good Friend Rose-Anne
Dear Friends,
I want to tell you about a beautiful, inspirational, needle-moving thing that happened on July 7 and it took place in just 10 hours!
An internet businessman, whose four-year old son was diagnosed with a very serious illness, was so grateful for the help a children’s hospital provided the family, he decided to raise $10,000 for the hospital as an EXTRA thanks for the care his son had received.
People all over the world responded to his heart-felt appeal and purchased a copy of his mini-course in record time. And he did it in just 10 hours.
And now I’m asking you to do the same.
My name is Rose-Anne, mother of a special needs child, and I have launched a brand new web site and ebook called For the Love of Our Children. It is dedicated to helping parents who have children with special needs. To assist and to provide alternative solutions, resources, and products and services. Sadly, sometimes, providing solutions when (regular) doctors have given up.
Here's the link right away to purchase the ebook: For The Love Of Our Children
The goal of this ebook, put together with the help of my friends (like world-renowned allergy specialist Dr. Keith Scott-Mumby; Brain-training expert, Lee Gerde; Conscious parenting team, Pearl Shanti and Andiran Lodur-Lionheart; Visionary artist and Energy Healer, Deb Graves; Nutrition expert, Cheryl Millett; Holistic nutritionist and biofeedback technician, Leija Turunen; and Registered Holistic Allergist, David Jesse Kennet) is to raise funds for children with special needs to receive the cutting-edge alternative solutions that are not covered by insurance plans and which many families may not be able to afford, yet can be truly life-changing.
In the ebook we've covered topics like:
• The best immune boosters that really work
• Alternative therapies your doctor doesn’t want to talk about
• Simple changes to make in day-to-day food choices that will make immediate changes to how you feel
• The important daily activity that we have neglected -- and once re-established, changes our health dramatically
•Many more health-changing facts and information
Here's the link again to purchase the ebook

You can also donate online at www.FortheLoveofOurChildren.com
Initially, my goal is to raise $10,000 or more. I hope that you will help me reach this goal by making a donation today.
The online resource will continue to provide valuable free information on alternative solutions so that we can truly take personal responsibility for the health and well-being of our children.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and for being a part of this journey. It is through the love and support of family and friends that we can help as many children with special needs as possible.
In Joy! Rose-Anne

4. Vitamin B1 Mega Doses Reverse Early-stage Kidney Disease
OK, we've looked at diabetes a little already, in section 2.
You may not know that diabetes is a sure path to kidney damage. As I said, diabetes is fast-aging.
I just came across an interesting study showing that thiamine, vitamin B1, can protect the kidneys from damage, at least in the early stages.
What surprised me was the very large doses used by the reseachers. These were even beyond what we used to call "megavitamin therapy" doses (not recommended).
The research came from the Warwick Medical School, UK, in collaboration with researchers at the University of Punjab and Sheik Zaid Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan (beautiful old castle in Warwick, by the way. Richard de Beauchamp, 13th Earl of Warwick, was the man who supervised Joan of Arc's trial and execution).
Back to kidneys!
Kidney disease, or diabetic nephropathy, develops progressively in patients with type 2 diabetes. Early development of kidney disease is assessed by a high excretion rate of the protein called albumin in the urine.
The Warwick team discovered taking high oral doses of thiamine (300 mg) can dramatically decrease the excretion of albumin and reverse early stage kidney disease in type 2 diabetes patients. In fact the albumin excretion rate was decreased by 41%.
The Warwick research group has already conclusively proven that type 2 diabetes patients have a thiamine deficiency, which could also be the key to a range of vascular problems for diabetes patients.

Let this be a taster too for the ebook on kidneys that you asked for. It should be ready in September.

5. Genes For Getting Drunk?
You know I laugh a lot at the “genes for everything” science. Some of it is absurd. Here’s a study showing we are more likely to join a crowd and get tanked if we have a particular gene pattern.
The study was published in a recent issue of Psychological Science and found that people with a particular genetic profile are far more likely than others without the gene to drink more when they see someone else drinking heavily. [Go on, yawn, try and convince me...]
The study focused on different versions of a receptor for the neurotransmitter dopamine, which controls feelings of pleasure. Previous work had shown that one form of this receptor, which contains a series of seven repeats of the same DNA sequence, is associated with increased alcohol cravings in a variety of situations.
To see if this chunk of DNA influenced reactions to social drinking situations, a team at the Nijmegen university in The Netherlands, recruited young adult volunteers, supposedly to watch and evaluate TV commercials between 4 and 9 pm in a setting that resembled a typical Dutch pub [marijauna and blinding tobacco smoke? Just kidding...]
The researcher's real objective was to see how many drinks each person consumed during the study's break times.
DNA samples were collected from each participant to see which version of the dopamine receptor they possessed.
What they found seemed quite striking: people with the seven-repeat version of the dopamine receptor were far more likely than those with a different version to drink heavily when they saw others doing so.
Of course nobody yet knows why this particular version of the dopamine receptor might trigger increased responsiveness to others' drinking. Maybe they are less sensitive to dopamine's actions and so are likely to drink more to try to feel its pleasurable effects?
The authors also noted that seeing others drink just a little didn't boost the urge to drink more in those with the receptor; only witnessing heavy drinking triggered the desire.
Also, I'm not quite convinced, because the drinks were free. We all know what that does to a thirst! And it's possible that the participants' behavior was altered because they thought of themselves as being under the watch of "responsible scientists."

6. What's In A Word?
Pique
Saw a silly spelling of this on a blog: someone had written "peaked". This is the real word (pronounced peak).
Pique is a beautiful, rich and complex word; it comes from the French. There are basically two ranges of meaning:
pique, as in arousing and stimulating curiosity ("Her curiosity was piqued")
pique: as in irritating and annoying. Someone is piqued; we might say "pissed off" in vulgar slang today.
In the second meaning, it often has the aspect of hurting pride or wounding self-esteem. "He was piqued not to be chosen as team captain," would be an example. Like having your nose put out of joint.
As I said, it's a complex word and is related to piquant, also from the French, meaning spicy, stimulating, attractive: "Her smile was piquant". A peppery food sauce might be "piquant".
Finally, our word may be connected in some way the with the 18th century French pique-nique, from which we get our word picnic!

So, that's all for this week!
Be well; find the sacred in all you do, otherwise don't do it!
