This Week's Quote:
"Doing science is rather like solving a murder mystery. You have to follow your hunches, which may often get you into blind alleys, you have to watch out for clues, interpret the evidence from experimental findings and connect them up into a coherent whole. And then, you have to present the case to your peers and the public, as though you are in a court of law."
Mae-Wan Ho, Director and co-founder of the Institute of Science in Society (she's a great quantum and alternative biology writer!)
1. The Real HRT For Women (and men too!)
I need to keep reminding you gals about this amazing stuff. HRT here stands for "herbal remedy from Thailand" (it's a joke from those in the know, wink wink).
But it really is an HRT substitute. It's clear and away, by light years actually, the best bioidentical hormone source known to (wo)Man.
It's technical name is pueraria mirifica and I posted a web page a couple of years back. You can read it here: alternative doctor pueraria mirifica page
Kimberly Roberts Keen contacted me on Facebook and she's really happy with my recommendation, as you can see by her comment:
"Just wanted to give you a quick THANK YOU for the tip about the Pueraria mirifica- H.R.T. PLus!!!! I have had severe hot flashes on and off for about 2 yrs, sometimes every 15 minutes apart and would drive me bonkers! I literally could not deal with the severity sometimes. I had tried birth control pills, the patch, bio-identical creams and nothing worked for me until I received this product!!! I am so grateful for the discovery and I have you to thank for that!!!! Thank you so much! I am forever grateful :-)"
And yes, men can take it. As we guys age there is a tendency to create estrogen compounds, particularly dihydro-testosterone (made from the real T). In fact, studies have shown that the estrogen levels of the average 54-year-old man is higher than those of the average 59-year-old women! The end result is that these high levels of estrogen can cause reduced levels of testosterone, fatigue, loss of muscle tone, increased body fat, loss of libido and sexual function and an enlarged prostate. 2. New Source For Medicinal Mushrooms
You all know I promote the value of medicinal mushrooms. They are among the most remarkable healing substances around. I recommended an operation called "Powershroom". Imagine my dismay to find they have just gone out of business.
I didn't have time to find a good substitute but Susan Doddy has very kindly done the work for me and located Mushroom Harvest run by George Vaughn. Susan e-mailed George and asked him some questions about his quality and also about how his mushrooms might compare to PowerShroom and he knew of them and said that they did get their mushroom powders from Aloha mushrooms. George told her that his mushrooms are similar in quality and that he also uses a steam process to break down the chitins in the mushrooms (very important point).
George said that many of his customers used to get their mushrooms from Aloha and they feel that his are even more potent. The best part is, his prices are way more reasonable than Powershroom, although he doesn't have the fancy website and packaging that PowerShroom had, but he sells his mushrooms in bulk powder for a really reasonable price and they are organic and totally grown and produced right in Ohio.
You can learn about George's products here: http://www.mushroomharvest.com/

3. Who Can Now Find The Truth?
I hate politics but my beloved profession of healing is now dragged so firmly into the ring with dirty fighters, it's hard to avoid it.
We know that in Feb 2009 Baxter released a genocidal strain of flu vaccine, designed to start a world pandemic. Baxter apologized and claimed it was a "mistake". Simply untenable and false. It would have required hundreds of people making the same mistake and violating strict security procedures. Significantly, Baxter has refused to say how this "accident" took place.
We also know that a terrifying outbreak of some plague in the Ukraine, which has infected over a million and killed hundreds.
You may not know that in August (weeks before the outbreak) a microbiologist called Joseph Moshe went public and stated that the Baxter lab in the Ukraine was a cover for a bioweapons facility and that a deliberate virulent plague would be released (this is documented). If you doubt it, then why was Moshe gassed, tazered and dragged off the streets of Los Angeles, with absurd accusations that he threatened to blow up the White House?
You know that official media are lying, covering up and saying nothing factual about this terrifying story. It's almost impossible to know what is going on. I'm not a born-again conspiracist but there has been something that doesn't add up with the H1N1 story, right from day one. The viral strain was an anomoly. This new "mutation" could be just a natural event; but if it is, how come Jospeh Moshe knew of it beforehand and was taken out by troops with armoured cars, EMF weapons, tazers etc.?
One thing is for sure: the USA is in the grip of marshal law under President Obama, whether it is admitted publicly or not. One wrong move that the adminstration sees as a threat to its propaganda lies and you disappear from the streets; shades of Argentina, Chile and the Third Reich!
In the last 4 years, no less than 81 scientists have met suspicious deaths.
Moshe was fully aware of this and it appears that he was attempting to try to make his way to safety by escaping to the Israeli consulate when he was taken out by force majeur.
Mainstream media has all but erased the incident, which in itself adds to the suspicion
concerning the Moshe story, and the outbreak in the Ukraine.

I think this is all scary as Hell; far worse than the early days of Nazism; and bodes very ill for what is in store for humanity.
Whatever you do, I beg you, get informed. GET YOURSELF A COPY OF "HOW TO SURVIVE IN A WORLD WITHOUT ANTIBIOTICS" IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY DONE SO. It may save you from a genocide that is being deliberately planned.

I will try to get news to you as it unfolds. But the amount of disinformation from all sides is bewildering.

4. Zero Calorie Noodles? There's More!
Last week I told you about carbo-free noodles, made with a healthy natural fiber called Glucomannan. It doesn't digest!
There's more to this story...
Controlled studies have found that after-meal blood sugar levels are lower in people with diabetes given glucomannan in their food and overall diabetic control is improved with soluble fibre-enriched diets according to preliminary and controlled trials. One double-blind study reported that glucomannan (8–13 grams per day) stabilized blood sugar levels in people with the insulin resistance syndrome.
It can also bind to bile acids in the gut and carry them out of the body in the feces, which requires the body to convert more cholesterol into bile acids. This in turn results in the lowering of blood cholesterol as well as other blood lipids. Controlled double-blind studies have shown that supplementation with several grams per day of soluble fibre significantly reduced total blood cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides and in some cases raised HDL cholesterol.
Here's one such paper from PubMed: Vuksan V, Jenkins DJ, Spadafora P, et al. Konjac-mannan (glucomannan) improves glycemia and other associated risk factors for coronary heart disease in type 2 diabetes. A randomized controlled metabolic trial. Diabetes Care. 1999;22:913–9 [PubMed]

5. Was King Midas A Beer Tippler?
A fascinating book called "Uncorking The Past: The Quest for Wine, Beer, and Other Alcoholic Beverages" looks at alcoholic drinks from eons ago.
Dr. Patrick McGovern, an archaeological chemist at the University of Pennsylvania, found evidence of an ancient alcoholic beverage in a 2,700-year-old royal tomb in Turkey. It could have been the tomb of King Midas!
He found one far older, 9,000 years old to be exact, in the Chinese city of Jiahu. McGovern believes that honey, grapes and hawthorn fruit gave the Jiahu brewers the sugar and yeast they needed to start fermentation. Later Chinese brewers developed a technique called mould saccharification, which breaks the complex carbohydrates of rice into simple sugars that can be fermented. That process yielded more specialised drinks including ancient and modern rice wines.
Now McGovern has collaborated with Delaware brewer Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head beer brewery. You can buy and actually drink a "Midas Touch" beer, from the original recipe. Hope it works for you like it did for the old king!
McGovern snoops around ancient sites, investigating strange dried out liquids in ancient pots, urns and vases, decoding what the drink was. He's become the world's leading expert in archeo-alcohol!
He says humans may have an added reason to be drawn to alcohol. Throughout antiquity, available water was likely to be polluted with cholera and other dangerous microbes, and the tavern may well have been the safest watering hole in town. Not only is alcohol a mild antiseptic, but the process of brewing alcoholic beverages often requires that the liquid be boiled or subjected to similarly sterilizing treatments.
“It’s possible that people who drank fermented beverages tended to live longer and reproduce more” than did their teetotaling peers, says McGovern, “which may partly explain why people have a proclivity to drink alcohol.”
It's still true today, by the way, that moderate drinkers outlive teetotallers on average.

6. What's In A Word?
Just a quick throw back to this feature:
Untenable.
I was asked. Strictly, it means, can't be held. It comes from the Latin tenere, to grip or hold. It shows up in tenacious (grips on and hangs on), locum tenens (one holds the place or location for another - usually just shortened to locum) and tenant; one who holds land or occupies property.

So, that's all for this week!
Be well; find the sacred in all you do, otherwise don't do it!
