1. What Do You Think Folks?

Did you see this?

It's rare, so it's no big deal (Oh yeah????)

2. Do You Know About Binaural Beats?

Robert Monroe first pioneered binaural beats, to achieve out-of-body experiences (without the necessity of dying!) Binaural beats means simply to supply slightly different frequencies to each ear. It's something that could only have happened since the advent of personal hi-fi and stereo sound.

Since then the market has expanded with many commercial offerings of mind-shifting audios of this type. Most of these are to relax and focus, not to go out-of-body. Centerpointe (Bill Harris) has pioneered a lot of this but his material is quite expensive.

Binaural-beats.com have several inexpensive tailored programs I thought you'd like. The one that first caught my attention was the "Digital Drug", meaning having a nice "high" without stupid and dangerous drugs like marijauna and ecstasy. It has a lot of meditation potential, since we strive to transcend the boring confines of so-called reality when we are meditating.

But they have other great-sounding audios, like "The Inventor" (to enhance your creativity) and "Chakra Balancing", which I know will appeal to many of you.

Go here and start by reviewing "Digital Drug". Here's the description they give of the experience:

As the noises swish around inside your head, you gain a total sense of clarity and harmony. Your brain naturally generates and releases endorphins, enkephalins, endogenous opiates, and serotonin... your mood elevates, pain disappears, fears and anxieties are crushed. Suddenly everything looks brighter and more beautiful. Why don't people usually see this?

You're totally conscious with amazing clarity of mind. You feel a sense of euphoria. You close your eyes and can suddenly visualize anything you dream of. It's truly amazing. And it doesn't just last for your sixty minute session... this is a totally natural "high on life" digital drug, with the effects lasting for hours afterward... no sudden "drop down", no adverse effects.

Well, they would say that, wouldn't they? Not safe to use while driving, by the way. This stuff really does entrain the mind in powerful pathways!

3. Just A Reminder About The SCENAR Cosmetology Teleclass

The recent teleclass giving details of how to use the amazing SCENAR for cosmetology purposes was one of the most popular I have ever held. For those of you who couldn't make it, the edited recording is here: http://www.home-scenar.com

Notice the story of the man who changed so much cosmetically in a few days that he was stopped by immigration officials because he didn't look like his passport photo, which had been taken only a month before. These guys, I suppose, are used to people looking OLDER than their photos but not younger! (especially not on a brand new passport!)

This is to announce the fact that the Haches and I will be running a major SCENAR training in Los Angeles, 14th and 15th of November. This will include basic training and specific cosmetology teaching. If you've ever wanted to earn a full-time living helping and healing people; or as an esthetologist, you should be on this course. The Haches are the best teachers I know.

4. FDA Lied And Broke The Law

(and the world laughs; they can't be taken seriously as anything but a band of mafiosi)

The U.S. FDA has issued a final regulation classifying dental amalgam safe, without calling for stringent precautions for pregnant women and children -- even though last June a court settlement filed by the Consumers for Dental Choice required the FDA to withdraw claims of mercury amalgam's safety from its Web site and issue an advisory indicating:

"Dental amalgams contain mercury, which may have neurotoxic effects on the nervous systems of developing children and fetuses."

Instead, the FDA has classified the fillings as class II devices, meaning the agency is claiming that they are completely harmless. This stands in direct contradiction of the conclusions of the FDA's own panel of scientific experts, and the findings of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT).

In fact, mercury dental fillings contribute 2 to 3 times as much mercury to the human body as all dietary and environmental sources combined. IAOMT is urging the FDA to change the ruling, ban dental amalgam from commerce and issue a mandatory recall on the product.

Charles Brown says:
"FDA broke its contract and broke its word that it would put warnings for children and unborn children for neurological damage. Bowing to the dental products industry, FDA for the first time in its history pulled a warning about neurological harm to children.”

“This contemptuous attitude toward children and the unborn will not go unanswered,” said Brown.  “We will see FDA in court."

Vapors from dental mercury go into the human body. Due to mercury waste, amalgam is also increasingly targeted by environmentalists. Amalgam has also become controversial because the middle-class has largely moved to non-toxic alternatives while the poor, minorities, and institutional recipients, such as soldiers and prisoners, still get mercury amalgam.

5. More Psychic Science

I should have mentioned with the article 2 weeks ago about "New Scientist" trying to trash psychic viewing, that when I was in Russia lecturing in St Petersburg (1995) I met a gifted scientific investigator, Yvgeny. He had worked with the military. While the Cold War was still raging, he had been detailed to conduct an experiment to use only psychic remote viewing to "detect" the Russian fleet at sea.

He had been able to locate every single ship on a world map, to within half a kilometer of its actual position. I've always said the Russians are a gifted psychic people but this is about as impressive as it gets.

Sadly, by the time we met, after perestroika, he was getting by on $30 a month: no work and very little food. I hope things have got better for him since.

6. Visiting Yosemite

Just this very weekend, Vivien and I are taking an short break and touring mid-California. We are visiting Yosemite together, for the first time in several years. We hiked up the steep climb to the upper Yosemite falls. Even in October, the heat was pretty awesome and took us completely by surprise. I was drenched in sweat.

upper yosemite falls

But you know me: this isn't just about tourism and pretty scenes! What's the point?

It was Vivien who noticed that none of our fellow hikers were American! We had Canadians, French, Hispanics, Brazilians, a German guy with only one arm and what sounded like Koreans. No Yanks.

Americans seemed to be lazy, overweight blobs waddling about the valley floor, stuffing with fries and coffees. Plenty of them. I was disheartened when so few Americans really cared and participated in their wonderful land. After all, they are the custodians of this God-given place.

It's true that it is really HARD to grind up mountain slopes. But the rewards seem to me to be worth it. There is nothing so sublime and spiritual as looking down from high places onto the world below. It is, as the proverbial saying goes, far closer to God. Certainly a lot closer than fast junk food!

C'mon guys. Get fit and turn your eyes upwards!

What's In A Word?

Crucible

Great word this, with a lot of work to do. You probably met it in the school lab, as a vessel made of a refractory substance such as graphite or porcelain, used for melting materials at high temperatures.

It also means a severe test, as of patience or belief; a trial. That was the sense in which Arthus Miller chose it for the title for his famous play about the Witch Trials of Salem. If you don't know the inside story, this play was an allegory of the "witch trials" of the McCarthy anti-communist era. Miller himself was dragged before the House Committee On Un-American Activities during the 1950s and ultimately charged with "contempt of Congress" for refusing to betray people he knew.

But crucible also means a place, time, or situation characterized by the confluence of powerful intellectual, social, economic, or political forces. So we can consider the 1980s in Silicon Valley, California, to have been a "crucible" of computer development.

Finally, for the Brits, our annual snooker world championships were held at The Crucible Theatre in the city of Sheffield. 18th century Boston was the crucible of the American Revolution.

This Week's Quote:

Yosemite Valley, to me, is always a sunrise, a glitter of green and golden wonder in a vast edifice of stone and space.

Ansel Adams (American Photographer, 1902-1984)

And room for another quote from this man:

Sometimes I do get to places just when God's ready to have somebody click the shutter.

So, that's all for this week!

Be well; find the sacred in all you do, otherwise don't do it!
